January 23. 2013, Lysaker, Norway: The Norwegian IT security company Norman AS will split into two independent companies. The split will strengthen each company’s position in a fast growing market.

“Norman is a leading developer and pioneer within IT security and is Norway’s only pure IT security company. By splitting the company we will be able to sharpen our focus and give our different customers exactly the products and the service they require. This will give us a competitive edge” says CEO at Norman Shark, Stein Surlien.

Norman Safeground AS has customers in over 180 countries and launched in Q4 2012 two new versions of Norman’s flagship products, NSS10 and NPRO 9.1, developed specifically for the Norman Safeground customer base.

“This is a solid company which will now be able to concentrate fully on giving its customers the best possible customer care, one they can’t find with any other competitor. That’s important for our customers, and will help us increase our market share” says Surlien.

Øyvind Lundgreen is the new CEO for Norman Safeground AS.

“In today’s climate of persistent threats, network defense alone is no longer enough. In order to protect networks from the proliferation of targeted attacks and unknown threats, analysts need dynamic malware intelligence capabilities that allow them to respond quickly in the event of an incursion.”
