Norman Shark Presents New Episode of Video Series to Continue Focus on Cybercrime Prevention among Executives
San Diego Gas & Electric’s Jessie Knight Warns of Cyber Attack Inevitability
SAN DIEGO, October 25, 2012 – Norman Shark, the global leader in threat discovery, malware forensics and analysis, and industrial control system protection solutions, today released a new installment of “Inside Network Security: Cybercrime, Malware and Today’s Emerging Threats,” a video series in honor of Cyber Security Awareness Month.
The fourth episode, “It’s When…Not If,” features Jessie Knight, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of San Diego Gas & Electric. Continuing the conversation from last week’s segment, Knight explains how the inevitability of cybercrime has elevated the discussion of information security to the boardroom level. Norman Shark General Manager for North America, Darin Andersen, hosts the interview.
Referencing his experience leading an energy utility recognized for strong cybersecurity standards, Knight addresses the roles of leadership in protecting critical information and infrastructure assets. He advises CEOs of energy-reliant organizations to consider cybercrime prevention a top priority. Knight also stresses the importance of investing in highly-knowledgeable IT managers who can assess risks and implement multi-faceted detection, analysis and mitigation strategies.
As Knight believes energy-related cyber attacks are inevitable, his segment serves to extend guidance for organizations to guard against malicious acts. He suggests security training, advanced data management and commitment to threat investigation by governments and corporations alike.
“Beyond strong leadership and employee knowledge, Knight recognizes the value of threat discovery solutions,” said Andersen. “He acknowledges Norman Shark’s dedication to innovation and quality, as well as keeping communities safe.”
Norman Shark will extend its successful video series beyond Cyber Security Awareness Month, and will release another episode next week. This week’s installment is available today on the Norman Shark YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9f_WMNJjZxU.
