{"id":314,"date":"2013-06-23T09:04:48","date_gmt":"2013-06-23T09:04:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.3lectrik.com\/normanshark\/?page_id=314"},"modified":"2013-06-23T09:09:27","modified_gmt":"2013-06-23T09:09:27","slug":"norman-as-to-launch-norman-network-protection-solution-at-rsa-demos-to-be-available","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.3lectrik.com\/normanshark\/news-events\/press-releases\/norman-as-to-launch-norman-network-protection-solution-at-rsa-demos-to-be-available\/","title":{"rendered":"Norman Shark to Launch Norman Shark Network Protection Solution at RSA, Demos to be Available"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Norman Shark to Launch Norman Shark Network Protection Solution at RSA, Demos to be Available<\/h1>\n<p><strong>New Features Enhance Performance and Speed of Cyberthreat Discovery, Increase Network Protection, and Improve Malware Forensics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SAN DIEGO, February 20, 2013<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 For corporations, government entities, utilities and any organization where security teams are increasingly concerned about advanced persistent threats (APTs), Norman Shark is launching its new Norman Shark Network Protection solution.\u00a0 Norman Shark is the global security leader in malware analysis solutions for enterprises, service providers and governments.<\/p>\n<p>Key new features of the Norman Shark Network Protection version 5 solution include SMTP relay, a new user interface, a faster scanning engine, and enhanced open APIs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Demos of the new Norman Shark Network Protection solution will be available in Norman Shark\u2019s booth, #2047, Tuesday, February 26 \u2013 Thursday, February 28.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur new Norman Shark Network Protection solution offers security teams enhanced capabilities and gives them more control over their malware detection and forensics, specifically more control between our Norman Shark Network Protection and Malware Analyzer G2 solutions,\u201d said Norman Shark Chief Technology Officer, Christophe Birkeland.\u00a0 With security teams seeing as many as 100,000 malicious files per day, it is critical they utilize powerful, automated solutions whenever possible, and our new NNP uncovers threats faster and more comprehensively than competitive products or previous versions of the NNP solution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Norman Shark Network Protection (NNP) is the core of Norman Shark\u2019s comprehensive threat protection suite that also includes Norman Shark\u2019s Malware Analyzer G2 (MAG2).\u00a0 NNP automatically detects and collects malicious files that traditional defenses miss. \u00a0MAG2 provides industry-leading hybrid SandBoxing, which enables IT and security teams to run suspicious files concurrently through the Norman Shark SandBox\u00ae and Norman Shark\u2019s virtualized IntelliVM modules.\u00a0 Norman Shark\u2019s Network Threat Discovery feature integrates the two solutions:\u00a0 it provides a feedback loop through which NNP uploads malware files to MAG2 for analysis, and after MAG2 has identified specific malware attributes, Norman Shark Threat Discovery forwards the information to NNP, which protects the network against future threats.<\/p>\n<p>New features in Norman Shark Network Protection version 5 include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SMTP Relay \u2013 NNP now features an MTA \u201cstore and forward\u201d capability, whereby NNP receives and examines email after the spam filter, and then based on results, delivers, quarantines or forwards it to a security administrator.\u00a0 It differs from a spam filter in that the solution focuses on the behavior of advanced threats contained in the email attachments, not on the spam content of the mail message itself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>New UI \u2013 NNP 5 introduces a powerful new user interface that substantially simplifies usage, provides live dashboard views of network analytics by protocol, enhances workflow support, and leverages the new application programming interfaces.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Faster Scanning Engine \u2013 NNP 5 includes Norman Shark\u2019s highest performance scanning engine, NSE7, delivering new file detection capabilities, integrated Norman Shark SandBox\u00ae functionality, smaller update files, and a rapid response platform to add new functionality as the threat landscape evolves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Enhanced Remote APIs \u2013 Remote APIs allow administrators to remotely and centrally manage, configure and monitor NNP appliances. The APIs also enable teams managing more than one NNP deployment to remotely and centrally configure all deployments.
